Un jour pas comme les autres

Il est dans la vie d’agréables moments

Qui laissent d’heureux souvenirs.

Un matin où j’avais une mauvaise grippe

Notre fils, encore dans sa tendre enfance,

M’a conseillé de garder la chambre

Et de rester bien au chaud au lit.

Il m’a aussi montré

Comment je devais me frictionner la gorge

Avec du baume mentholé.

Puis, avant de partir pour la messe avec sa maman,

Il s’est approché de mon lit

Pour glisser ma couverture sous mon cou,

Après m’avoir caressé le visage.

Notre fils ne l’a pas choisi ce jour,

Un jour pas comme les autres,

Qui était marqué

Pour nous faire pénétrer l’âme d’un enfant,

Pour nous révéler la sincérité

 

De ses sentiments.
