Ce que nous avions tant d\u00e9cri\u00e9, les \u00e9v\u00e9nements viennent aujourd\u2019hui nous donner raison. Le Coll\u00e8ge Royal de Port Louis ne compte qu\u2019un seul laur\u00e9at et ce laur\u00e9at n\u2019a fait que les deux ann\u00e9es de classe terminale dans cette institution. Cela vient amplement d\u00e9montrer que le probl\u00e8me d\u2019adaptation demeure un fait assez d\u00e9rangeant pour les nouveaux \u00e9l\u00e8ves qui changent d\u2019institution. Madame le recteur du RCPL a d\u2019ailleurs confirm\u00e9 ce que nous avan\u00e7ons dans une d\u00e9claration de presse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Contrairement au RCPL, le Coll\u00e8ge Saint Esprit qui n\u2019a jamais embrass\u00e9 la r\u00e9forme Obeegadoo, se trouve dans une constante o\u00f9 cette institution confessionnelle fait toujours ses preuves. Avec trois laur\u00e9ats, cette institution se maintient comme une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au niveau du HSC car, ce coll\u00e8ge ne s\u2019est jamais transform\u00e9 en un \u2018Form VI College\u2019 et a continu\u00e9 comme par le pass\u00e9. Voil\u00e0 ce qui explique son succ\u00e8s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">L\u2019autre point qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 notre cheval de bataille, c\u2019est la publication d\u2019une seule liste de laur\u00e9ats \u2013 filles et gar\u00e7ons compris. Nous avons toujours maintenu que la publication de deux listes s\u00e9par\u00e9es est discriminatoire sur le plan constitutionnel. Nous ne comprenons pas le silence de ceux qui d\u00e9fendent les causes f\u00e9minines\u00a0: ils n\u2019ont rien trouv\u00e9 pour dire \u00e0 ce sujet, et pensent encore moins \u00e0 entrer une action en Cour supr\u00eame afin de r\u00e9clamer l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9. Les associations f\u00e9ministes seraient-elles amorphes\u00a0? L\u2019Ombudsperson pour les enfants verrait-elle tout de travers, ne peut-elle pas intervenir et utiliser ses connaissances l\u00e9gales pour remettre les pendules \u00e0 l\u2019heure\u00a0? Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 pourtant associ\u00e9e \u00e0 un certain mouvement f\u00e9ministe \u00e0 une certaine \u00e9poque.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Avec la d\u00e9cision de l\u2019Etat d\u2019augmenter le nombre de boursiers de l\u2019Etat \u00e0 50, nous souhaitons vivement que l\u2019octroi de ces bourses soit bas\u00e9 principalement sur les crit\u00e8res de m\u00e9ritocratie. Il ne faut pas qu\u2019il y ait une quelconque discrimination \u2013 positive ou non. Il faut que les bourses soient allou\u00e9es \u00e0 ceux qui le m\u00e9ritent. Nous veillerons \u00e0 ce que ces conditions soient respect\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Par ailleurs, nous estimons que la d\u00e9cision du ministre Bunwaree de \u00ab\u00a0baisser\u00a0\u00bb le niveau d\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 trois \u2018credits\u2019 pour int\u00e9grer un jeune en HSC est tr\u00e8s mal avis\u00e9e. Ce serait, l\u00e0, une bombe \u00e0 retardement. Aujourd\u2019hui, tous les pays du monde visent \u00e0 donner \u00e0 leurs citoyens une \u00e9ducation qui permettrait le d\u00e9veloppement global du citoyen. Au lieu de proposer l\u2019ouverture et rehausser le niveau, nous pensons \u2018local\u2019 et cette baisse de niveau nous m\u00e8nera droit vers la catastrophe. L\u2019Etat n\u2019a pas le droit de cloisonner ses citoyens en leur privant d\u2019une \u00e9ducation globale. L\u2019Histoire ne nous pardonnera pas cette bavure monumentale. Avant qu\u2019il ne soit trop tard, le ministre a encore le temps de faire amende honorable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>Suttyhudeo Tengur<\/strong><\/em><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Pr\u00e9sident &#8211; Government Hindi Teachers Union<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>* * *<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Wake up, TP Saran!<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I am a regular reader of your newspaper, and the least that I can say is that I was shocked to read TP Saran\u2019s article <em>\u2018Medpoint Clinic: Need for some lateral thinking\u2019<\/em> in last week\u2019s issue. The more so given that the said article demarcates drastically from previous articles penned by the same author.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">TP Saran raises several points, which need to be highlighted. First, he states that \u201cpractically all details have been laid bare\u201d during the \u201cpress briefing\u201d of Minister Maya Hanoomanjee. Then he jumps on the issue of \u201cwhether we need a hospital for geriatrics rather than make provision for special care for this category of persons when they become ill from certain ailments peculiar to their age.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shifting from his very subjective approach of the Medpoint affair, he turns himself into the mouthpiece of Pravind Jugnauth by quoting extensively from the one and only statement of the latter on the purchase of the Medpoint Clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">TP Saran does not stop there! How could he not meddle in politics? Paul B\u00e9renger is his target and, since the latter would have committed blunders, why shouldn\u2019t others? Especially Maya Hanoomanjee and Pravind Jugnauth!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To crown it all, TP Saran even juggles with figures to prove that the Medpoint is worth Rs 375 \u2013 400 million!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I will conclude simply by saying that he would have definitely felt the pinch had the money come from his pocket! But what he does not realize is that indirectly he has contributed from his own pocket towards the purchase of Medpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>A bon entendeur, salut!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>J.
