Swamiji met the press at the Aapravasi Grat Trust Fund on Wednesday 21 July 2010.Swamiji\u2019s aim is to promote Shaswat Jivan Vidya \u201cShaswat way of life\u201d practical ways of spiritual development, through Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation and righteous living. Mahamandaleshwar is part of the Dashnami Order of Swamis, founded by Adi Shankaracharya some 1200 years ago. The Mahamaldaleshwar order is among the highest level of traditional Hindu spiritual guardianship to which a sannyasi is elevated by his peers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Mahamandaleshwar order is subdivided into 13 Akharas (Sub-orders) entrusted with the responsibility of preserving the traditional (including martial) arts and spiritual teachings and practices which find their roots in the Vedas. Each Akhara is headed by an Acharya Mahamandaleshwar who is surrounded by other Swamis of the level of Mahamandaleshwar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Swami Umakantanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj is on his third visit to Mauritius. His first visit was in 1999. The second visit was in 2009 and during that visit, he held Yoga Training Courses for Trainers for the benefit of a large number of Yoga Teachers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For the current visit, Swami Umakantanand has already completed a one-week programme in Goodlands for the benefit of thousands of devotees of that region. A series of events are programmed for Swamiji in various regions of the island, including Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes, Vacoas, Curepipe, Calebasses, Port-Louis, Plaine Magnien.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Several evening programmes have been organised to ensure that his message reaches the maximum number of persons.
