{"id":3123,"date":"2014-10-10T07:46:09","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T07:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mauritiustimes.com\/mt\/2014\/10\/10\/geeanduth-gopees-nine-wonderful-journeys-of-life\/"},"modified":"2018-05-29T21:38:21","modified_gmt":"2018-05-29T17:38:21","slug":"geeanduth-gopees-nine-wonderful-journeys-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mauritiustimes.com\/mt\/geeanduth-gopees-nine-wonderful-journeys-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Geeanduth Gopee\u2019s \u2018Nine Wonderful Journeys of Life\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; line-height: 1.3em;\">In a packed auditorium of the Alliance Francaise, with a fitting ambience, the audience listened and watched a well-organised launching event for a new book, held on Wednesday 8 October 14. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The author of the new book, Mr Geeanduth Gopee, was delighted to\u00a0 share his thoughts and explained the purpose and contents of his book \u2018Nine Wonderful Journeys of Life\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The audience comprised mainly young people and students from the Mauritian student community living in Delhi and nearby states and relatives and friends from Europe and Mauritius.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">A large group of students from the School of Planning and Architecture of Delhi attended and met the author personally. One of their classmates is in fact a student at the SPA studying architecture in the third year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Mr Joyker Nayeck, Deputy High Commissioner of the Mauritius High Commission based in Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. He expressed his satisfaction and pride for being associated with the event. He was impressed by the depth of knowledge and advice covered in the book, especially the story of Christina and Mangal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Mr Geeanduth Gopee, on the strength of his background as management consultant and a top officer in Mauritius Civil Service, revealed how he spends weekend and nights,\u00a0 involved in his passion of reading, researching and writing. His first book, \u2018Soldiers of Humanity\u2019, was also published in Delhi in 2012 by the same publisher. He gave details about the nine journeys covered in his book. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Based on the simple concept that life is journey, his book mentions of the joys and tribulations of a typical human being in the various stages of his life. He gave some hints on how a person become a super-achiever and lead a stress-free life. He quoted from his book: \u201cEvery human being is a shining star.\u201d He has to make the most of his life by balancing the inbound and the outbound journeys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The publisher of the book, Mr Anil Varma, Director of star Publications Ltd explained that he has been working since long with several Mauritian authors in both English and Hindi. He revealed that the subject matter of the book was a different and new business avenue for him. His father, Mr Amar Varma seized the opportunity to give his views on the book.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Ms Gagandeep Kaur, Program Coordinator, Alliance Francaise de Delhi, explained the support provided by her organisation to promote arts and culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Mr Noharduth Gopee, son of the author, was the Master of Ceremony.
