He remarked that Mauritians go to see the doctor for any minor ailment which Indians cure at home. I immediately thought of my childhood days when traditional cure was used successfully to relieve headache, fever, diarrhea, cough, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The messages flooding the social media mention, among other things, getting rid of Covid-19 by drinking a hot liquid, or inhaling steam from a mixture of water and eucalyptus, ginger and\/or cloves, or consuming ginger and curcumin. Furthermore a room can be made Covid-free if sliced onions are randomly scattered around.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What if these are tried and tested methods? What if a controlled group from those in quarantine is given those remedies? There are two possible outcomes: either the person giving them will be made a laughing stock of in case of failure, or in case of success, he will be a hero.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The \u201cwhite coat\u201d syndrome is so deeply ingrained that the vast majority of readers will call me mad. Those who are desperate will try the cures.
