‘Mr Anil Gujadhur has been wondering about the nation losing its moral bearings. To me there is no doubt as to its accelerating losing trend’

Mr Anil Gujadhur (Mauritius Times, 7 July 17) has been wondering about the nation losing its moral bearings. To me there is no doubt as to its accelerating losing trend.

Remember the “Amsterdam Boys” having had the service of a police escort from SSR Airport to their residences.

At about that time were we not dished out with “moralité nas pas rempli ventre”?

Several Ponzi schemes and bank frauds were uncovered and are still in the news.

Recently we had the confessed withdrawal of money from a certain bank before its collapse being too much of a coincidence.

More recently still the repartee about journalists was worthy of a caricature of the famous Manneken Pis in Brussels.

On a positive note I should say that recently, during my studies and practice of acupuncture, I have found that a point referred to as “Shuai Gu” or GB8 or VB8 can be effective if massaged. I am prepared, free of charge, to demonstrate how to locate the point if one cares to group and organise relatives of addicts or nurses or social workers. I can be contacted by letter at 30 SSR Street, Port Louis.

An Appeal

Dear Reader

65 years ago Mauritius Times was founded with a resolve to fight for justice and fairness and the advancement of the public good. It has never deviated from this principle no matter how daunting the challenges and how costly the price it has had to pay at different times of our history.

With print journalism struggling to keep afloat due to falling advertising revenues and the wide availability of free sources of information, it is crucially important for the Mauritius Times to survive and prosper. We can only continue doing it with the support of our readers.

The best way you can support our efforts is to take a subscription or by making a recurring donation through a Standing Order to our non-profit Foundation.
Thank you.
